Why we started this
Making Memories SC started with a simple frustration: most travel sites treat South Carolina as three beaches and Charleston, and skip the 47 state parks, small towns, and weekday festivals that fill up an actual family calendar. We wanted a site that answers the questions people ask before a trip, not after: where do we park, will a four-year-old make it through the hike, and what do we do if it rains.
What we cover
Nine content lanes make up the site: South Carolina Weekend Trips, Family Adventures, South Carolina Beaches, Small Towns, Day Trips, Festivals and Events, Things to Do With Kids, Outdoor Adventures, and State Parks. Every guide separates what we've researched from what our team has personally experienced, and we say so directly instead of blurring the line.
What we won't do
We won't publish an admission price or event date as current without checking it first. We won't call every attraction a must-see, and we won't send families to a spot without mentioning a real accessibility or parking issue if one exists. Sponsored content, when it runs, is labeled as sponsored.
